Respiratory Therapy
As a Respiratory Therapist at LRMC, you’ll have the opportunity to utilize and develop many skills in a collaborative practice environment. Here are a few of the tools and features you’ll have available:

Pharmacy
The Pharmacy Department at LRMC is advanced both clinically and technologically. All staff participate in clinical activities, assisting one another according to individual strengths, to provide all aspects of pharmaceutical care to our patients, including pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring, hyperalimentation dosing and monitoring, P&T approved therapeutic interchanges, renal dosing, antibiotic monitoring, and other patient-specific therapeutic needs.

Our emphasis is on evidence-based medicine and community stewardship. The department has been newly renovated, and is in the final stages of implementation of a 100% barcode-driven dispensing process for increased efficiency and safety, providing each final dose with an individual barcode for electronic verification. We utilize an electronic process for transmitting and storage of physician orders, and automated dispensing machines as the primary mode of dispensing medications to our patients. We encourage and support professional development, and have several pharmacists on staff that have become certified by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties. As an extremely active teaching site for several colleges of Pharmacy we are scheduled to precept fifty pharmacy students this year. Due to the size and complexity of the hospital, we have unlimited opportunities for clinical.

Laboratory Professionals
Accredited by the College of American Pathologists, LRMC’s Laboratory Services offer a wide variety of clinical and anatomical pathology services. Because of this, our laboratory professionals experience a high-level of technical growth by exposure to an array of disease states and state-of-the-art equipment. Our structure includes:

In the area of Anatomic Pathology, we have seven Pathologists with a wide variety of backgrounds, who offer high level expertise in laboratory medicine. They are intensely integrated into the operations, and offer the guidance and support for an ever-changing technical environment.

Radiology Professionals
The Radiology Department at Lakeland Regional Medical Center is a full service department providing a full complement of radiologic services, including CAT Scan, Diagnostic, Interventional Radiology, MRI and Nuclear Medicine. We also are home to a School of Radiology. With over 250,000 procedures performed annually, we boast many features of interest to practitioners:
  • State of the Art equipment, including a 64 slice scanner with coronary package
  • a new vascular interventional room with flat panel technology, and digital diagnostic rooms
  • completely filmless and fully integrated with PACS
  • progressive Radiologist and cutting edge technology
  • advanced procedures performed in the department, including Abdominal Aortic Aneurism Stenting, Kyphoplasty and Organ Ablation
In addition, as a Level II Trauma Center with the second busiest Emergency Department in the State of Florida, we provide a full complement of Radiology Technologists dedicated to emergency care, with CAT Scan and Ultrasound equipment solely for their use.

Rehabilitation Services
The Department of Rehabilitation Services offers a wide range of experiences for Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists. Our diverse patient caseload includes:

  • Orthopedics
  • Pre- and Post-Surgical
  • Trauma
  • Cardiac
      
  • Intensive Care
  • General Medical
  • Neuro/CVA
  • Wound Care
Our therapists are given the autonomy to develop and challenge their clinical skills, while at the same time, working within a close-knit family of professionals to provide exceptional health care.
