Materials Handler
A year and two months.
Im a Materials Handler. Im in charge of delivering supplies all over the hospital from
the Shipping and Receiving Department. I also participate in the Ambassador program.
The buzz was that LRMC was a great place to work. So I decided to check it out and see what they had to offer.
And I can say that the rumors are true its great.
I immediately enrolled in LRMC’s GED program. It was one of the best things Ive ever done. Not only has it
provided me with further education, its made me feel better about myself. Its given me the
self-confidence I need both personally and professionally.
Tremendously. On a professional level, theres always an opportunity to learn new
things. Im expanding my knowledge and experience each day. Personally, Ive become
not so shy. I interact and talk with many different people throughout the day and
that helps me to be more open.
I enjoy meeting new people. I also like the people I get to work with.
What moved me most was my first day of work, when I met one of my coworkers. His words
got right to me. He said dont be scared because you can do anything you put your
mind to. My proudest moment had to be when I completed another level toward my GED.
There are so many opportunities here that are non-existent at other companies.
Its a good place to work and the people are great.
Confidence-builder. Gratifying. Opportunity.
I would say meeting new people and having the opportunity to learn new things each day.
