Janet Fansler, RN, MS, CENP, is everything you want in a chief nursing executive – and more. She's deeply committed to exceptional patient care and maintaining positive working environments for nurses. And she has an amazing ability to share her passionate vision for nursing, inspiring everyone around her.
Among the numerous leadership roles she held with local and national nursing organizations are the following:
- Secretary, treasurer, president-elect and president of the Florida Organization of Nurse Executives
- President, treasurer and education chair for the Nurse Executives of Polk County
- Member, AONE Nominations Committee and AONE Professional Practice Committee
- Member, Florida Nurses Association
Janet's steadfast belief in the value of service has long benefitted the Lakeland community, too. She has served on the boards of several local organizations, including:
- Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce
- Central Florida Speech and Hearing Center
- Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Polk County
- Central Florida United Way Agency
- American Heart Association
A 2007 recipient of the FONE Nurse Leadership Award, Janet has impressive educational credentials. She holds a Diploma in Nursing from Grant Hospital, Columbus, Ohio; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University, Richmond, Kentucky; and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida. In addition, Janet has published articles in Nursing Economics, Nurse Leader and International Hospital Comparison-Best Practices in Hospital Management.
